Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Alnair (the “Service”) is operated from Bangladesh (“we”, “us”, “our”). The Service is accessed at alnairnote.com. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. The Service

Alnair is an AI-powered note-taking and study assistant. Users upload course materials (PDFs, audio recordings, or pasted text) and the Service generates structured study notes, flashcards, quizzes, mind maps, Feynman-test evaluations, and a retrieval-augmented AI chat tied to each note.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service. Alnair is intended for adults, including university and college students, researchers, and working professionals. It is not directed to, or intended for use by, children or anyone under the age of 18. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload or generate content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, or harmful;
• Upload material you do not have the right to share;
• Use the Service to harass, spam, or impersonate others;
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service;
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission;
• Use the Service in any way that breaches applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice, at our reasonable discretion.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Alnair offers a free tier with limited usage and paid tiers (“Pro” at $7/month and “Max” at $30/month). Paid subscriptions are sold and processed through Polar.sh, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. Polar’s own terms apply in addition to ours at checkout.

Paid subscriptions do not auto-renew. Each subscription is billed once at the start of its period and expires automatically at the end of that period. To continue paid access, you must re-subscribe through the pricing page. You will not be charged again unless you actively go through checkout a second time.

Prices, plan benefits, and usage caps may change. We will give reasonable advance notice via email or in-app notice for material changes. Changes take effect at the next purchase cycle and never retroactively for an already-paid period.

6. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our separate Refund Policy. In short: we do not offer discretionary refunds, but statutory consumer rights (including the EU 14-day right of withdrawal and the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015) are honored automatically by Polar where they apply.

7. Your content

You retain all ownership of the content you upload (notes, audio recordings, uploaded files, chat messages). By uploading content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you (transcribing audio, generating notes, indexing for AI chat, etc.). We do not use your content to train any AI models.

Audio files are never stored permanently. They are processed in temporary memory and deleted within the same processing job. The text outputs (transcripts, notes, summaries, flashcards, embeddings) are stored in your account. See the Privacy Policy for details.

8. AI-generated content

The Service uses third-party AI models to generate notes, transcripts, flashcards, quizzes, mind maps, and chat responses. The specific providers we work with are listed in our Privacy Policy and may change as we adopt newer or more reliable models. AI output may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or misinterpretations. You should not rely on AI-generated output for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Always verify important information against authoritative sources.

9. Service availability

We provide the Service on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that any specific feature will remain available. We may perform maintenance, change features, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Account deletion cascades to all of your notes, uploads, chat history, and other data. We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that creates risk for us or other users.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Alnair and its operator from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Bangladesh, except where mandatory consumer-protection law requires otherwise (in which case the courts of your country of residence may also have jurisdiction).

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. For material changes that affect your rights we will give reasonable notice (email or in-app). Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
